Samsung Galaxy 551 (GT-I5510) wifi connection errors

Problem
The wifi connection of the Samsung GT-I5510 easily breaks. Even within a reliable home situation the wifi connection easily breaks after just a few minutes. The wifi connection appears to switch on/off randomly but it's more off than on.

Solution
Update to Android-2.3.6, using this website:
After the update, these are the settings reported:
- Samsung Galaxy 551 I5510
- model number: GT-I5510
- Android-2.3.6
- smallband version: I5510XWKP1
- kernel-version: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL882725, root@DELL138 #1
- build-number: GINGERBREAD.XWKPH
And wifi is running just fine :-)
Workaround
Power on/off the wifi and/or the device. Tinker with clearing all memory.
